Sandbar Haven Camp is a  "Challenging" difficulty Camp with all hiking being "Off-Trail" with access to the Homochitto River - with outstanding views. The Campsite Center is nestled in the batture area of the Homochitto River with a short walk to the sandbar/river. This Camp has three different wild camps to choose from, Main Camp (inside the woods), Sandbar Camp (on the beach), & an Alternate Quick Woods Camp for those not wishing to make the full Off-Trail hike to the primary wild camp areas. Parking is located at the end of FSRD 111A/Germany Rd. with ample space up to 3-4 vehicles & turnaround.  The hike-in is mostly mixed upland pine/hardwood timber with some ridges and bluffs to navigate. The water source is the Homochitto River section running north/south just north of Hwy. 98/84.

The camp can accommodate up to 4-6 shelters. The Hike is approx. 631 yards (one way) to Wild Camp Center from the starting point.  You may also opt to camp directly on the beach/sandbar or the easier Alternate Wild Camp area.
