Wild Camp #6 Tally's Creek
Tally's Creek Wild Camp is a great "Beginner" Camp with an "Easy" difficulty rating consisting of creekside flatlands with semi-upland mixed hardwood & pine stands and is genuinely a great quick "Overnighter" Wild Camp. There is adequate area for parking at FSRD 186B/Tally's Creek Rd. @ the small creek bridge or the Tally's Creek Trail Head location just around the corner on Pot Hook Rd. The "off-trail" hike is easy and parallels a portion of the Tally Creek Hiking Trail (which you could start at as well) - mainly following the creek. Stay true to your coordinate navigation routing and you'll be good to go. The total distance to Wild Camp is 405 yards.
This Wild Camp Site can accommodate 3-4 tent/hammock shelters. Creek access is ideal. Hike to wild camp is flat, with minimal elevation change. Waypoint coordinates and location bearings are included in the Wild Camp Report.
