Wild Camp #7 Red Prong Creek -1
Red Prong Creek Camp-1 is a great "Beginner" Camp with creek access & can also be "Car Camped" due to a small cleared grassy opening. It has an "Easy" difficulty rating with adequate parking for up to 4 vehicles at the ned of FSRD 156A. The area is generally flat, with a very short hike into camp. The FSRD has a few "rutted/eroded" areas to be aware of, but not muddy - the road is graveled. Low-clearance 2-WD Vehicles may have an issue with this road. The Woodland/Timber conditions are Mixed Upland Pine/Hardwoods with minimal understory for Hiking. There is Creek access directly behind the Parking area.
It can accommodate up to 2 shelters - due to denser juvenile trees, but open enough to enjoy the area. The Hike is just shy of 65 yards (one way) - a very flat walk-in. Waypoint coordinates and location bearings are included in the Wild Camp Report.
